Kirk L. Haffner, M.S.

President, Owner, and Lead Engineer

Kirk earned his Master’s in Physics from the UW, and has 10 years construction, trades and energy system experience. It is this degree that makes South Sound Solar a local leader in our industry. Kirk looks at the physics behind a system, and if it doesn’t work, we won’t sell it. Besides Designing and Installing Solar Systems, he Consults on Passive Solar Design, Green Building and Energy Conservation.

Kirk is available for educational discussions and presentations. He has 7 years corporate experience as an engineering manager and 7 years experience as a teacher. He is a sought after presenter on solar, and answers questions with patience and intelligence.

Bruce Hargrave

Solar Site Specialist

Bruce has an Electrical Engineering degree (BSEE), and over 30 years experience in power generation, construction, and facilities management.

Dever Haffner-Ratliffe

Vice President

Dever (Rhymes with “ever”) is in the process of earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Business Administration. She takes care of everything from scheduling to marketing. Dever takes great pride in our sponsorship of local events in the community. She can usually be found at any booth with our name on it, happy to answer questions.

Our Staff

We have an experience team of installers.  All have exceptional skills and do quality work.  Our electrician is NABCEP certified and an experienced installer.
